Strat Chat

Strat Chat is new and still developing. Expect rough edges, and always check what it tells you against the Standings or Laps panel beside it.

Like ChatGPT for your race - ask anything about your car and your rivals. Besides answering your questions, it posts short updates, unasked, as the race happens.

P1TS computes, the assistant presents. The AI supplies the words; every number behind them comes from the same timing data the other StratX panels display. When a number isn't available, it says so instead of guessing.

Your Anthropic key​

Strat Chat needs an AI account behind it. It calls Anthropic straight from your browser with your own key, so usage bills to your Anthropic account, not to P1TS.

During a try-it period P1TS may supply the AI on a particular server, and then you need no key at all - the panel says so above the conversation when that applies to you.

Which cars it reports on​

The Cars selector in the panel's toolbar - the same one the Gap Chart and Laps panels use - controls which cars Strat Chat knows about. The limit is deliberate: covering every car in the field would cost hundreds of times more per update, so the assistant only sees the cars you've said matter.

It opens with your hero, sister and follow cars checked, and the Hero / Sister / Follow buttons jump back to that default. Check any other car to have Strat Chat cover it too. Before your first question, the panel states the current set ("Answering about 63 (your car), sisters 7, 23, follows 57").

Ask about an unchecked car and you'll get "I don't have data for that car" rather than a guess - except for position and class, which it can answer for any car in the field.

Asking for more detail​

Every update carries a summary - position, pace, gaps to the cars you're tracking. For anything more specific, just ask:

  • Pit stop history - "how did my stop compare to 288's?"
  • Individual lap times - "what have my last five laps been?"
  • Any car's position or class - "what's the leader doing?", "who's my class leader?"

You can also dictate questions - a microphone button appears next to Send in Chrome, Edge and Safari (not Firefox). Dictation only fills the input box, never sends, and needs working internet.

Updates​

An update posts on its own when your car completes a lap or pits, a rival pits, a gap or position moves, or the flag changes. A quiet track means a quiet panel: updates follow the race, never a timer.

The high-volume triggers - laps, rival pits, rival gaps - each have a switch in Settings. Your own pit stops, your own position changes and flag changes always post, so the switches control volume rather than letting the panel miss a full-course yellow.

Settings​

  • API key - your Anthropic key, covered in full on Anthropic API key. Set it once; it is stored per browser, so it survives switching views.
  • Model - which Claude model narrates.
  • Concise (numbers only, no prose) - on by default. Every response shrinks to just the changed facts, and a question about several cars comes back as a compact table. Turn it off for fuller narration.
  • Hero lap completed / Rival pit stops / Rival gap and list changes - the three volume switches above. Turning all three off leaves the panel answering typed questions only; typed questions always work.
  • Pause while panel is hidden - on by default, so a background tab doesn't keep spending while you're not looking at it.
  • Session usage - an estimated cost since this browser session's first update. A local estimate, not your Anthropic balance - check platform.claude.com for that.
  • On the built-in views (.Strat1, .Strat2, .P1xie), everything above except your API key resets on reload. Save a view of your own to keep it.
